A group of practising advocates and technologists, building the tool we wished we had.

Made in Bharat. Built by lawyers, engineers, and product builders who saw the same problem from different sides of the bench.

Who we are

We are a collective of lawyers, engineers, and product builders who saw the same problem from different sides of the bench. The Indian legal system runs on brilliance and dedication — but the daily workflow runs on manual drafting, paper files, and a junior's WhatsApp. We built Legalese to give that workflow an upgrade, while keeping the judgement where it belongs: with the advocate.

Why we built it

We built this to simplify the legal ops of an advocate — from hearings to drafting to case management. One workspace for the day-to-day work that has lived, until now, across WhatsApp groups, junior check-ins, endless tab refreshes, and 1 AM drafting sessions.

For hearings — real-time WhatsApp alerts the moment your case is being called. You know before your name is announced.

For drafting — AI that turns a one-line prompt into a court-ready document. Petitions, contracts, notices — in minutes, not 1 AM.

For case management — every case, hearing, party, and order on your phone. Nothing buried in a junior's inbox or a forgotten browser tab.

What we believe

psychology

AI should augment, not replace

The advocate is the strategist, the counsellor, the advocate. Legalese is the rest.

public

Data should stay in India

The professional privilege of an Indian advocate should not depend on a server in another country.

bolt

Tools should be boring where boring works

Drafting a Section 138 notice should be three clicks, not a tutorial. Speed is a feature.

balance

The advocate is the customer

We build for practising lawyers in India, not for legal ops teams in other countries. The product reflects that.
